The Society of Risk Management Consultants is an international organization of professionals engaged in risk management, insurance and employee benefits consulting. Its mission is to advance these professions to benefit the consultants, their clients and the public through research, education, exchange of information through conferences, networking, and the promotion of professional and ethical guidelines.
SRMC was founded in 1984, and was a successor to the Institute of Risk Management Consultants and the Insurance Consultants Society, two former consulting organizations whose history dates back to the early sixties. Today, the organization is led by its Officers and Directors who, working with the SRMC’s various Committees and many others volunteering their efforts, ensure that the SRMC continues to benefit its members and the clients they serve.
Members' clients range from mid-size privately held companies to Fortune 100 public companies, non-profits, governmental entities and other professionals who require risk and insurance related expertise ().
Members are independent consultants helping clients manage risk in a cost-effective manner. Assignments often require expertise in many areas of areas of risk management and employee benefits, such as broker selection, insurance audits, risks identification, claims management, development of loss control programs, expert witness, litigation support services, insurance policy archaeology and enterprise risk management (ERM).
