Indiana State University's Risk Management and Insurance Program The insurance and risk management program at Indiana State University's College of Business has been recognized as among the nation's best. The program is one of eight profiled -- and the only university from Indiana -- in the September issue of Risk Management Magazine, a national publication for corporate risk managers.

Insurance Fraud Research Register The Insurance Fraud Research Register (IFRR) is an annotated bibliography of published articles and working papers that deal with the general topic of insurance fraud.

Insurance Information Institute The mission of the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.) is to improve public understanding of insurance -- what it does and how it works. For more than 40 years, the I.I.I. has provided definitive insurance information. Today, the I.I.I. is recognized by the media, governments, regulatory organizations, universities and the public as a primary source of information, analysis and referral concerning insurance.

Insurance Research Council The Insurance Research Council is a non-profit division of the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters and the Insurance Institute of America. IRC addresses subjects relating to all lines of property-casualty insurance, including coverages of automobiles, homes, businesses, municipalities, and professionals. Its major studies each year provide facts pertaining to key industry challenges. Policy makers and opinion leaders can view its reports as objective guides to understanding complex issues.

Risk Theory Society The Risk Theory Society, originally founded in August, 1963 as the Risk Theory Seminar, is a self-administered organization within the American Risk and Insurance Association (ARIA) whose purpose is to foster research into topics in risk theory and risk management. The Society accomplishes its mission by hosting an annual meeting where papers that have been distributed to members in advance of the meeting are presented and critically discussed in an extended time format. The Society has financial resources to provide assistance to authors who present papers.

RMIS WEB RMIS-Web is an Internet web site dedicated to risk management/insurance information systems and software. RMIS-Web offers risk and insurance professionals articles from leading publications, columns by RMIS industry experts, and "hyperlinks" to RMIS software providers and consultants.

Society of Insurance Research The Society of Insurance Research (SIR) is the leading international, interdisciplinary organization of insurance research practitioners focused on identifying, understanding, and communicating industry trends, emerging issues, and innovations for the benefit of our Members and their employers.

Temple University's Department of Risk, Insurance, and Healthcare Management The Fox School of Business and Management is the largest, most comprehensive business school in the Philadelphia region, and offers a variety of MBAs and other specialized Master's programs, such as the MSBA in Information Systems. The School also offers Ph.D.s in Business Administration, Economics and Statistics. Undergraduate students can choose from 14 majors and over 200 courses. The Insurance and Risk Management Department of the Wharton School Wharton's Insurance and Risk Management Department, the first of its kind in the world, approaches its field from a number of different perspectives: as a market, as a risk management technique, as a business, and as an instrument of public policy. Wharton faculty examine insurance against a background of accelerating change in the legal, regulatory, organizational, and economic environment in which businesses operate. Other risk management tools are evaluated from a financial management viewpoint. The Insurance and Risk Management Department also focuses on actuarial science, which includes actuarial mathematics, statistics, computer technology, and operations research, as well as insurance and other business disciplines.

University of Calgary's Risk Management, Insurance, and Employee Benefits Program

University of Mississippi's Risk Management and Insurance Program Ole Miss has made one of the strongest commitments of any major university to the study of risk management and insurance (RMI). Majors must take at least five rigorous RMI courses plus three others from a limited list of finance courses, one of which can be an RMI internship. The vast majority of courses are taught by full-time faculty with doctoral degrees specializing in RMI. We are the only RMI program in the state with multiple faculty trained at the highest academic level and one of only two in Mississippi and contiguous states.

University of Wisconsin - Madison Department of Actuarial Science, Risk Management, and Insurance The UW -Madison School of Business has supported an Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance program since the 1930s. Additionally, its relatively small size permits individual attention, which may account for the success of alumni who include high ranking insurance executives, brokers, consultants, employee benefit specialists, and risk managers for Fortune 500 firms. Similarly, UW - Madison doctoral recipients, who teach and conduct research at universities worldwide, are well represented in the academic community.

Wharton Risk Management and Decision Processes Center The Wharton Risk Management and Decision Processes Center is a nexus of people and projects devoted to furthering the practical understanding of how to manage situations of risk involving health, safety, and the environment in both the private and public sectors of our society. Building on the disciplines of economics, decision sciences, finance, insurance, and marketing, the Center's research program is focused on descriptive research and prescriptive analyses.
